Kehinde Wiley is a Los Angeles native and New York-based artist. Famous for his very naturalists portraits of urban communities, he’s seeing as a contemporary descendant of a long line of portraitists – including Reynolds, Gainsborough, Titian and Ingres. “Wiley engages the signs and visual rhetoric of the heroic, powerful, majestic, and sublime in his representation of urban black and brown men found throughout the world” – Sean Kelly Gallery

Kehinde Wiley received the Artist of the Year Award from the New York City Art Teachers Association, in 2011.

Exhibition at the Daniel Templon Gallery, Paris from October 27 – December 22, 2012
